He was predeceased by: his parents, Rony Taylor and Effie Hedges Taylor; and his brothers, Rony, Jr., James Taylor and Homer Taylor.

He is survived by: his wife Anna Downey Taylor; his daughter Liska Taylor of Shelbyville; and his grandson Mitchell D. Taylor (Allison). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
