It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nell Katherine Smith of Shelbyville, Kentucky, born in Cropper, Kentucky, who passed away on August 10, 2021, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Urban Hugh and Ethel Frances Hall Shaw; her husband Clarence T. Smith; and her grandson Adam Absher. She is survived by: her daughters, Claria Jean Caston (Ed) of Bowling Green, Linda Kaye Cook (Bruce) of Greenwood, Vivian Frances Clarke (Doug) of Bradenton and Carol Beth Merrifield (Greg) of Louisville; her sister Helen Frances Denham (Charlie) of Lexington; and her grandchildren, Brian Connor (Carolyn), Jessica Kephart (John), Stacy Greene (Chyron), Curt Merrifield and Katie Cook. She is also survived by her four great-grandchildren.
