She was predeceased by: her parents, Virgil Emerson and Roma Adith Snider; her brothers, Everett, Roy, Virgil and Ralph Snider; and her son-in-law Dr. John Matthews.

She is survived by: her daughter Joy Matthews of Franklin, Tennessee; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Matthews Lai (Mark) of Madison and Daniel Matthews (Sarah) of Greenville; and her great grandchildren, John Matthews Lai, Everett Anderson Matthews, Georgiana Catherine Lai, Simmons Wills Matthews, James Shepherd Lai and Daniel Townsend Matthews, Jr..
