It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joe Paul Simpson of Shelbyville, Kentucky, who passed away on December 9, 2024, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, Joe Paul shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Joe Paul farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Tollie and Frances Edmondson Simpson; and his brother James David Simpson. He is survived by: his wife Bobbye Ann Simpson of Shelbyville; his grandchildren, Andrew Simpson Benningfield of Louisville and Emily Kate Benningfield of Lexington; and his brothers, Charles "Whitey" Simpson (Susan) of Springfield and Ernon Simpson (Susan) of Bowling Green.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:45 PM at the Hall-Taylor Funeral Home (1185 West Main Street Shelbyville, KY 40065). A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Shelbyville First Baptist Church Disaster Relief Fund, 1516 Midland Trail, Shelbyville, Kentucky 40065, or to the WHAS Crusade for Children, 520 West Chestnut Street, Louisville, Kentucky 40202.
