It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dora Liggett Carpenter (Shelbyville, Kentucky), who passed away on May 8, 2020, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Annis Liggett; and her husband James W. "Jim" Carpenter, Jr.. She is survived by: her mother Marie Martin Liggett Kelly; her children, Melissa Welman (Rick) of Shelbyville and Philip Carpenter (Donna) of Lexington; her grandchildren, Jimmy Welman and Hannah Carpenter; and her sister Joyce DeBarr of Buckhannon.
