He is survived by: his mother Ann Willard Dempsey of Shelbyville; his brothers, James Howard "Jimmy" Dempsey of Nacogdoches, TX and John Mark Dempsey of Shelbyville; and his niece Kimberly "Kim" Dempsey Millard of Richmond. He is also survived by two great nieces and two great nephews.
