She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Prater and Roma Rowe Prater; her husband Chester Adkins; and her siblings, Johnnhy Webb Prater, Melster Newsome, Ruth Skinner and Myrtle Marie Prater.

She is survived by: her sons, Michael Adkins (Suzy) and Cecil Ray Adkins (Rhonda); and her brothers, Milford Prater (Glenda) and Miles Prater (Justine). She is also survived by six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
