He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Gilbert and Beatrice Isom Combs; and his brothers, Chester Ray Gilbert and Sam Gilbert. He is survived by: his wife Deanna Ratliff Gilbert; his children, Jonathan Ratliff of Greasy and Ginger Lovins of Greasy; his siblings, Micky Gilbert of Eolia, Tommy Gilbert of Eolia, Ann Wagner, Faye Carr and Dana Hubbard of Morristown; his grandchildren, Phillip Lovins, Mariah Lovins and Caleb Lovins; and his great grandchildren, Mason, Maddox, Maverick and Miley Lovins.
