She was predeceased by: her parents, John D. Dailey and Mollie D. Jackson Dailey; her husband Carl Estill Shields; her children, Freddie Irvin Shields, Katie Lou Tincher, Juelda Rae Shields and Nancy Thomas; and her siblings, Omar C. Dailey, Sammie Dailey, Ruby Gibson and Louise Dailey.
She is survived by: her close friend Blackie; her children, Andrew of Bethel, Wayne Allen Shields of Bethel, Billy Shields of Bethel and Peggy Shields of Olympia; and her sisters, Mary Fox of Indiana and Eveline Workman of Sharpsburg. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
