He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Shemwell and Ermon Blake Shemwell; his stepson Danny Hightower; and his sisters, Marie Bryant, Margaret Maxwell and Martha Mallory.
He is survived by: his wife Elsie Epley Shemwell of Sharon Grove; his sons, Joe of Sharon Grove and Lewis Shemwell of Sharon Grove; his stepsons, Billy Hightower of Sharon Grove and Wayne Winders of Sharon Grove; his daughters, Janie Fowler of Elkton and Donna Jenkins of Elkton; and his siblings, James Calvin Shemwell of Sharon Grove, Sylvia Segers of Elkton, Ruthelle Mayes of Elkton and Joyce Brooks of Louisvile, KY. He is also survived by 13 Great Grandchildren.
