He was predeceased by: his father David Herman; his siblings, Mahlon Melton, Herman Melton, Ralph Melton, Frances Nix, Norma Carver, Elizabeth Melton and Marlene Melton; and his great grandchild Emmalyn Clark.
He is survived by: his wife Sue Melton; his sons, Darryl Melton (Julie) of Onton and Garrick Melton (Bonnie) of Onton; his grandchildren, Hannah Clark (Jesse), Heather Ortt (Cody), Jacob Melton (Brandi), Brannan Melton and Madison Melton; and his great grandchildren, Addalyn Clark, Evelyn Clark and Ella Melton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
