He was predeceased by: his father William Buchanan; his wife Sue Buchanan (Brown); his daughters, Cheryl Buchanan Wilson and Teresa Jennings; and his brother Jerry Buchanan.
He is survived by: his children, Thomas Lane Buchanan of Sebree, Roger Earl Buchanan of Dixon, Jennifer Kay Stone of Sebree, Tammy Hanes, Franklin Wade Howard of Sebree, Ferris Waylon Howard of Benton, William Franklin Howard of Sebree, Lynn Borum of Sebree, Kathy Marks of Madisonville, Kasele Dale of Sebree and Kristie L. Brooks of Grand Rivers; and his siblings, Carol Buchanan of Henderson, Charles Buchanan of Sebree, Kenneth Buchanan of Henderson, Gary Buchanan of Sebree, Randy Buchanan of Sebree, Burnetta Springfield of Sebree, Alladean Kramer of Evansville, Clara Jo Watson of Henderson, Darlena Ricketts of Henderson, Reitha Wolf of Sebree, Katherine Kafara and Debbie Cadeau. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
