He was predeceased by: his parents, Buren Gillespie of Washington and Pearl Jones Gillespie; his daughter Melaina Gillespie; and his siblings, Dale Gillespie and Sylvia Coggins.
He is survived by: his daughter Laura Gillespie Hall (Mark) of Adams, TN; his sister Helen Herbert (Steve) of Lafayette, TN; and his granddaughter Sophia Dawn Hall.
