He was predeceased by: his parents, William Ezra Cooper and Blanche Rob Herrington Cooper; his wife Sylvia Joyce Smalling Cooper; and his brothers, C. W. Cooper (Sharon) and Jack Cooper (Beverly).
He is survived by: his daughter Glenda Gentry (Troy) of Scottsville, KY; his stepchildren, Donna Akers of Scottsville, KY, Darlene Barrett of Scottsville, KY, Laddie Melton of Scottsville, KY, Ronnie Melton of Scottsville, KY, Ken Melton of Scottsville, KY, Dale Melton of Stockton, CA and Jessie Cook of Portland, TN; his siblings, Billy Cooper of Smyrna, TN, Virginia Smith (Wendell) of Benton, KY and Eva Nell Orr of Smyrna, TN; and his grandson Shawn Dustin Gentry. He is also survived by 17 step grandchildren and several step great great grandchildren.
