He was predeceased by: his parents, Bill Godsey and Delia Jasper Godsey; his siblings, Patsy Godsey, Gene Godsey, Billy Godsey, Ed Godsey and Lee Godsey; and his grandson Stanley Turner.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Jo Hendricks Godsey; his children, Becky Godsey Thurman and Bobby Godsey; his grandchildren, Michael Thurman (Alicia), Austin Thurman (Haley), Trinity Turner and John Turner; his great grandchildren, Taylor Brown, Dakota Sadler, Destiny Sadler, Riley Thurman, Jasper Thurman, KynLee Thurman, Lainey Thurman and Tucker Thurman; and his brother Tom Godsey. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Vaught Ridge Cemetery Fund or Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
