Mathel McKee Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mathel McKee of Science Hill, Kentucky, who passed away on March 4, 2025 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Mike New and Rosa Young New; and her brothers, Russell New, Charlie New, Ronnie New and Lonnie New.
She is survived by: her sons, Douglas McKee (Lois) of Eubank and Perry McKee (Brian) of New Market, TN; her siblings, Norman New (Juanita) of Eubank, Roger New (Lisa) of Somerset, Jimmy New of Somerset and Brenda Loveless (Russell) of Science Hill; her grandchildren, Chris McKee (Heather), Adam McKee (Jennifer) and Whitney Edwards (Travis); her great grandchildren, Tanner McKee (Abby), Tucker McKee, Lucas McKee, Laila McKee, Shannon Smith (Madison), Alexis Bishop, Brantlee Bishop, Haylee Foster, Natalee Foster and Bradlee Foster; and her great great grandchild Charlie Smith. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and other family members.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 7th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Lake Cumberland Funeral Home (1046 KY-80, Somerset, KY 42503). A funeral service was held on Friday, March 7th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home (1046 KY-80, Somerset, KY 42503).
The family requests any donations be made to the Science Hill Cemetery Fund in memory of Mathel McKee.
