He was predeceased by: his parents, Rudolph Monroe and Georgia Cammack Monroe; and his brother Michael Monroe. He is survived by: his siblings, Lonnie Monroe (Wanda) of Whitley City, Kentucky, Chandra Measel (Mark) of Waynesburg and Pam Looney (Irv) of Florida. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
