He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Ruth Miller Ison and Andrew Jack Ison, Sr.; his brothers, Ira Lee Ison and Ronald Ison; and his siblings-in-law, Greg Gentry, Madeline Ison and Bobbi Ison.

He is survived by: his siblings, Sue Gentry of Sandy Hook, James Ison of Isonville, Donald Ison of Grayson, Dewey D. Ison (Trish) of Blaine and Randell Ison of Sandy Hook. He is also survived by extended family members and friends.
