He was predeceased by: his parents, Herald Whitaker and Thelma Joseph Whitaker; and his siblings, Bobby Whitaker, Chuck Whitaker, Tim Whitaker and Deanna Whitaker.
He is survived by: his wife Jessie Neal Arnett Whitaker; his children, Michael Whitaker (Teresa) of Paintsville, Matthew Whitaker of Lexington and Stephanie Davis (Brandon) of Georgetown; his brothers, Carter Whitaker of Salyersville and Terry Whitaker of Royalton; and his grandson Aaron Davis.
In lieu of flowers, family has requested contributions to be made to the Tom's Creek Freewill Baptist Church, 81 Church Drive, Nippa, Kentucky 41240, the Swampton United Baptist Church, Royalton, Kentucky, or Licking River Baptist Church, 385 S. River Road, Salyersville, Kentucky 41465.
