She was predeceased by: her parents, Melvin Minix and Betty Jay Minix; and her siblings, Arby Lee "Bubby" Sublett, Anita Jo Hylton, Kimberly Rose Sublett and Myrtle Ellen Whitaker.
She is survived by: her husband Flint Doug Prater; her children, Jim Mitchell Kelly Prater of Royalton, Betty Mae James of Salyersville and Kimberley Suzanne Prater of Paintsville; her brother Christopher Todd Minix of Salyersville; and her grandchildren, Dan Douglas Hale, Trenton Paul Hale, Jonathan James, Brody Grey Hensley and Anna Berklee Snow Hensley.
