He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert McCarty and Betty Ruth Whitaker McCarty. He is survived by: his brothers, Ronnie McCarty (Peggy) of Salyersville, Ray McCarty (Sharron) of Salyersville, Robin McCarty of Salyersville and Randel McCarty of Salyersville. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
