She was predeceased by: her parents, Asa Howard and Cinda Hensley Howard; her husband Jimmy Elam; and her siblings, Harlan Howard, Hassel Howard, Cecil Howard, Lena Slusher, Della Howard, Alka Howard, Ida Howard and Zett Howard.
She is survived by: her children, Roy Howard of Wilmington, Garry Summa of Alger, James Hubert Summa of Alger and Fannie Isaac of Salyersville. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.
