He was predeceased by: his father Arnton Reed; his wife Sandra Sue Dingus Reed; his daughter Carolyn Gayle Reed of Michigan; his grandson Aaron Sherman Reed; his great grandchild Rebecca Gayleene Sparks; his son-in-law Phillip Gervin Blanton (Sheila Lyn Cantrell Reed); and his siblings, Henry Reed, Donald Reed, Pat Reed and Betty Gay Allen.
He is survived by: his children, Susan Blanton, Mary Lou Sparks of Salyersville, Danny Lynn Reed (Sara) of Jeffersonville, David Mitchell Reed (Judy) of Salyersville and Jay Darren Reed (Missy) of Salyersville; and his siblings, Johnny Reed of Salyersville, Gordon Reed of Salyersville, Francis Allen of Salyersville, Dottie Ward of Salyersville, Georgia Statzer of Hamilton and Beverly Hill of Lexington. He is also survived by twenty-one grandchildren, thirty-six great grandchildren, and eleven great-great grandchildren.
