He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Cantrell and Clara Jayne Castle Cantrell; and his siblings, James Wilson Cantrell, Arnold Morris Cantrell, Martha Ann Cantrell and Shirley Mae Manns.
He is survived by: his children, Justin Cantrell of Royalton and Trista Holbrook of Paintsville; his siblings, Grant Cantrell of Salyersville, Marion Cantrell of Oil Springs, William Marcus Cantrell of Staffordsville, Audrey Faye Harris of Huntington, Elizabeth Meade of Flat Gap and Linda K. Thompson of Huntingtin; and his granddaughter Jocelyn Marie Cantrell. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
