He was predeceased by: his father Clinton Whitt, Jr.; and his brother Rex Whitt. He is survived by: his mother Mary Eleanor Burgett Whitt; his daughters, Lora Lou Carty (Royal Thomas Carty, Jr.) of Salyersville and Angela Sue Howard (Jerry Christopher Howard) of Salyersville; his siblings, Earl Whitt of Salyersville, Terry Lee Whitt of West Liberty and Paula Jean Howes of Salyersville; and his grandchildren, Kourtney Lynn Price, Abbigale Grace Carty and Jerry Hudson Howard.
