He was predeceased by: his parents, Forest Eugene John and Mary Evelyn McSorley Akers; his sister Pearlie Hall; and his grandchild Kindley Ray Lyon. He is survived by: his son Kenneth Ray Akers (Stephanie) of Lowmansville; his siblings, Jody Carl Eugene Akers of Lee City, John Wesley Akers of Hazel Green, Penny Hall of Mt. Sterling and Ginger Moore of West Liberty; and his grandchildren, Harley Marshall Akers and Jimmie Nichole Akers.
In lieu of flowers, family has requested contributions made to the Magoffin County Funeral Home.
