It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Darrell Dean Whitaker of Salyersville, Kentucky, who passed away on February 24, 2024, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lonnie Layne and Mary Patrick Whitaker; his granddaughter Mercedes Layne Whitaker Stephens; and his sister Avanelll Arnett. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Butcher Whitaker; his children, Darrell Shane Whitaker (Tracy) of Salyersville and Sonya Jill Whitaker (Ricky Dean Whitaker) of Salyersville; his sister Bonnie Jean Stone (Phillip) of Tecumseh; his granddaughter Alexandria Mayne Risner (Brandon); and his great grandchild Zander Dean Risner.
