He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Smith and Anna Murrell Spradlin; his daughter Mary Alice Smith; and his sister Jeannie Applegate. He is survived by: his wife Bertha Smith; his children, William Clay Smith of West Liberty and Rebecca Ann Smith of Indiana; and his grandsons, Nathan Scott Smith of West Liberty and Shawn Robert Muse of Louisville. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, family and friends.
