He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Blanton and Fay Spencer Blanton; and his brother Larry Joe Blanton. He is survived by: his wife Lilah Thompson Blanton; his daughter Kayla Montalvo (Manuel) of Mt. Sterling; his stepdaughter Sheena Thompson of Salt Lick; and his siblings, Gary Blanton (Diana) of Owensboro, Melvin Junior Blanton of Salt Lick, Shirley Blanton (Sandy Estridge) and Debbie Botner of Beattyville. He is also survived by six grandchildren.
