He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Brown and Dorothy Ann Brown; his daughter Norma Jo Brown; his stepchildren, Thomas Withrow and Tina Withrow; and his siblings, Pamela Brown and Larry Brown.
He is survived by: his wife Lottie Purvis Brown; his children, James Brooks Brown, Jr., Carol Ann Wheland, Tammy Manley and Regina Marie Hardin; his siblings, Regina Tapp, Minnie Alsap, Orville Lee Brown and Ellen Brown; and his close friends, Nathan Young and Robin Reffitt.
