He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Josephine Mattingly Brady; his parents, William Thomas and Minnie Lee Newton Brady; his sons, John, Boodles, Randall Brady, Joseph Richard, Joseph Lee and Joseph Paul Brady, III; and his siblings, Jenna Rose Mattingly, Mike, Jimmy and Shug Brady.
He is survived by: his wife Lucille Rogers Brady; his sons, Paul Harvey Brady (Jessica) of Loretto and William Francis Brady (Edith) of Lebanon; and his sisters, Fronie Van Arsdale of Louisville, Annabelle Newton (Joe) of New Haven, Jeanette Clark (James) of Holy Cross and Dorothy Lanham (Ricky) of Culvertown. He is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
