She was predeceased by: her parents, Hershel Higgs and Rethel Hendricks Higgs; and her siblings, Chester Higgs, Freeman Higgs, LeRoy Higgs, Bobby Higgs and Dorothy Johnson.

She is survived by: her husband Shelby Clayton West; her sister Shirley Vanover; and her sister-in-law Joyce West. She is also survived by 8 nieces; and 1 nephew.
