He was predeceased by: his parents, John Hardy and Martha Pauline Lyons (Stinson); his wife Shirley Lyons; and his sister Georgia McDaniel (Forrest). He is survived by: his daughter Deborah Lynn Lyons; his nieces, Tracy Baker (Michael) of Mt. Juliet, Brenda Whittaker (Donnie) of Owensboro and Sandy Carter (Greg) of Owensboro; and his nephew Mark McDaniel of Owensboro.
Leonard asked that donations be made to the Shriners Hospital.
