He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Ferris and Betty Taylor Ferris; and his sister Alice Ferris Bridge. He is survived by: his wife Joan Ferris; his daughter Jesica Ferris Campbell; his grandchildren, Jackson and Jailyn Campbell; his daughter Jaclyn Ferris; his grandchildren, Noah and River Lynch; and his brother Dr. Ron Ferris.

Memorial Donations may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children Medical Center, 110 Conn Terrace, Lexington, KY 40508.
