He was predeceased by: his parents, Douglas Nester and Carolyn Nester; and his son-in-law Ronnie Carpenter. He is survived by: his wife Carla Sansbury Nester; his children, Megan Kibler (Tom) of Russell, KY, Micah Duff of Point Pleasant and Sacha Carpenter of Ripley; his grandchildren, Michael DeWeese of Russell, KY, Shelby DeWeese of Russell, KY, Dalton Duff of Mason, Dylan Duff of Point Pleasant, Drew Duff of Point Pleasant, Emily Carpenter of Charleston and Zeke Carpenter of Ripley; his great grandchild Lielah Carpenter; and his siblings, Steven Nester (Sera) of South Point, Valinda Imes (Bill) of Ashland, KY, Reggie Nester (Cindy) of Ceredo and Lisa Maynard (Jimmy) of Ceredo. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
