He was predeceased by: his parents, John Howell and Etta Dillon Howell; and his brothers, Robert Francis and John. He is survived by: his sisters, Verona Bridgett, Edith Louise, Mary Josephine and Rita Kathryn; his wife Janie Smallwood Howell; his children, Harper Howell (Alex) and Holly Wehrle (Mike); his grandchildren, Maggie, Ellie, Harper II, Hannah and Quinn; his niece Kim Gutierrez; and his pets, Scooter and Chico.
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the area Meals-On-Wheels program.
