With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Myrtie Kerns McGowan of Russell Springs, Kentucky, who passed away on November 1, 2022 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Dewey and Laura Bricken Burton; her former husband Albert "Alb" Kerns; her son Kenneth Kerns; and her siblings, Junior Burton, Eugene Burton, Carl Burton and Joyce Wright.
She is survived by: her husband John McGowan; her children, Keith Kerns (Tammy) of Russell Springs, Jeff Kerns (Donna) of Russell Springs and Vicky Smothers (Gary) of Russell Springs; her stepchildren, Kenneth McGowan of Russell Springs and Phyllis Jefferies of Russell Springs; and her siblings, Elwood Burton of Russell Springs, Levon Burton of Chattanooga, Tennessee and Betty Jo Davis of Indiana. She is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
