He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Rice and Violet Bush Rice. He is survived by: his wife Rose Schlick Newman of Russell Springs, KY; his daughters, Heidi Rice (Paul) of Russel Springs, KY, Kim O'Brian of Upstate, NY, Sharon Simano of Jefferson City, TN and Karen Berger of Land O'Lakes, FL; and his grandchildren, Patrick, Kevin O'Brian, Heather Miller, Jason Simano, Jessica Berger, Georgia, Paige and Ryan Hebert.
