He was predeceased by: his parents, Lucy Hopper (Hammonds) and Estill Hopper; his brother Marion (Kathy Hopper) of Apopka, FL; his wife Faye Smith Hopper; and his siblings, Jarvis Hopper, Lewis Hopper, Edwin Hopper, Doris Wade, Patricia Neathery Hughes and Martha Hopper.
He is survived by: his children, Pamela Smith (John R. Adams) and Gene Vance (Connie Smith) of Russell Springs, KY; his sister Betty Lunsford of Russell Springs, KY.; and his grandchildren, Dr. Allison S. Cherry (Brent), Heather Dando (John), Trevor Smith, Megan Redmon (Jason), Jonathan E. Adams and Rebecca Carmichael (Matthew). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family ask memorial donations be made to the Fairview Cemetery Fund.
