She was predeceased by: her parents, Benjamin Downey and Cora Elsie Stephens Downey; her son Donnie Higginbotham; her siblings, Lincoln Holder, Leecie Holder and Fay Hoover; and her granddaughter Mia Darnell.

She is survived by: her children, Cody Downey, Christian Downey, Gina McQueary (Terry), LaTisha Montgomery (John), Kisha Darnell (Jeremy), Courtney Downey, Brooklyn Downey, Emiliee Downey, Kylie Miller, Hailey Smith, Carlie Montgomery and Debbie Higginbotham; and her siblings, Carl Downey, Jenny Fillippinie, Velma Hill, Helen Napier, Della Ray Burns, Barbara Russell and Marsha Bell. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
