It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Robert Lee Layne of Rush, Kentucky, born in Wayne, West Virginia, who passed away on May 17, 2023, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Frank Sr. Layne and Mattie Byrd Layne; and his siblings, Jessie Layne, Denver Layne, Sammy Layne, Roseanne Woods, Hazel Burke, Goldie Justice, Dorie Payne and Jenny Thomlin.

He is survived by : his children, Leisa Rae Littleton and Robert Edward Layne; his grandsons, Cody Littleton of Rush and Matthew Littleton of Rush; and his siblings, Frank Layne, Jr. (Cindy), Bill Layne (Linda), Jimmy Layne and Roberta Sexton. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
