It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Doris Austin of Rosine, Kentucky, who passed away on January 27, 2025, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Leslie Dukes and Reba Rafferty Monroe; her former husband Scotty Monroe; her husband James Austin; and her siblings, Darrell Dukes, Lorice Dukes and Marcene Dukes.
She is survived by: her sons, Barry Monroe (Donita) of Myrtle Beach, SC and Larry Monroe (Fort Novosel) of Daleville, AL; her stepson Terry Austin (Linda) of Rosine; her siblings, Lowell Dukes (Deloris) of Central City, Jackie Dukes (Ruth) of Clinton, IL and Geraldean Ingram (Robert) of Beaver Dam; her sister-in-law Doris Dukes of Bloomington, IL.; her grandchildren, Charles Monroe (Katarina), William Monroe, Melissa Monroe Ryder (Justin), Jonathon Monroe, Brennan Monroe and Jenna Monroe; her stepgrandson Jason Austin; and her great grandchild Michael Wayne Ryder.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the William L. Danks Funeral Home (222 N Lafayette St, Beaver Dam, KY 42320). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 at the Rosine Cemetery.
