He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest N. Sr. Childers and Phyllis Kendell Childers. He is survived by: his wife Betty Joyce Duff Childers of Rogers, Kentucky; his children, Alan Scott Coldiron (Jodi) of Beattyville, Kenneth Marshall Childers (Amanda) of Rogers, Kentucky, Leslie Ruth Brooks (John) of Cynthiana and Christina Gayle Childers of Georgetown, Kentucky; his grandchildren, Beth Roberts (Nick) of Beattyville, Brianna Dickerson of Beattyville, Roseanna Moore of Georgetown, Brooklyn Moore of Georgetown, Melissa Childers of Rogers, Nichole Arnold (Gene) of Cynthiana, Victoria Tolson of Nicholasville and Issac Tolson of Winchester, Kentucky; and his siblings, Robert Childers (Wendy) of Monticello and Lynna Evans (Jeff) of West Milton, Ohio.. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.

“I assume this is the gentleman who had the little shop in Zachariah going toward Hollerwood. We have a cabin out that road and would stop nearly every time we were down there; even bought a few things from him. He was such a sweet, gentle soul who nearly always talked about his precious wife when we stopped to visit. The love he had for her was the real thing and he had the best smile every time he talked about her. He is so missed. We wondered what happened to his shop and this breaks our heart”
