He was predeceased by: his parents, Morgan Chaney and Didema Chaney; and his wife Deborah Gray Chaney. He is survived by: his daughters, Susan Roers (Chris) and Katrina Wright (Gary); his sister Imal Elswick; his grandchildren, Jett, Cam and Dakota; and his great grandchild Lily.
