It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Winona Thorpe Harris of Richmond, Kentucky, born in Richmond, Virginia, who passed away on May 29, 2023, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Moore Thorpe, Sr. and Mattie Taylor Thorpe; her husband Charles Allen Harris; her brothers, Clarence M. Thorpe, Jr. and Harry A. Thorpe; her grandson Charles Baylor Harris; and her stepgranddaughter Allyson Howard (Helton).

She is survived by: her son Charles Bradford; her daughter-in-law Deborah Harris (Slaven) of Corbin; her daughter Teresa Elizabeth Harris; her son-in-law Sam Metcalfe of Richmond; her grandchildren, Westley R. Metcalfe (Juliana Williams), S. Cole Metcalfe (Jordynn Baldwin), Camden B. Harris and Charley-Beth Harris; her great grandchildren, Aiden, Titus, Jude and Moses Metcalfe; her stepchildren, Alan Robert Harris and Vicki Harris Blakley (Randy); her stepgrandchild R. Shawn Helton; and her sisters-in-law, Nancy Allison (Harris) and Anita Gay (Thorpe). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Other expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to Harlan United Methodist Church, 201 E. Mound St, Harlan, KY 40831 or First United Methodist Church, 401 W. Main St., Richmond, KY 40475 in memory of Mrs. Harris.
