He was predeceased by: his father John "Johnny" Frank Marshall; and his siblings, John Wilson, Marshall James Roy Marshall, Clayton Marshall, Joe Marshall, Bob Marshall, Grace Harris and Willie Mae Davis.

He is survived by: his sons, Calvin "Teresa" Marshall and Marvin "Tammy" Marshall; and his grandchildren, Walter Scott Marshall (Christina), Deana Brandenburg (Eric), Brandon Marshall (Amy) and Donny Marshall (Emily). He is also survived by 14 great grandchildren.
