He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Paul Busby, Esley and Maxine Cherrix. He is survived by: his parents, Danny J. McKinney and Deborah Cherrix McKinney of Fuquay-Varina; his grandmother Betty Busby of Morehead; his close friends, Scott Robinson and Mark Miller; his pets, Rusty and Tucker; his son Benji; and also Cassandra Bradley of Morehead. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, a great niece, aunts, uncles, and friends.
