We are sad to announce that on January 1, 2025, at the age of 76, Jerrald W. Bates I of Richmond, Kentucky passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Jerrald may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Jerrald touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Bates and Alta Smith Bates; and his wife Linda Joyce Weiner Bates. He is survived by: his children, Jerrald Walter Bates II (Jennifer) of Louisville and Katherine Helton (Jeffrey Edwards) of Richmond; and his sister Sharon Bates. He is also survived by two step-grandsons and several nieces.
