He was predeceased by: his parents, Delbert Blanton and Bessie Gabbard Blanton; his wife Wilma Dunn Blanton; his children, Mark Blanton and Joyce Ann Shelton; and his siblings, Bill Blanton, Thelma Blanton and Martha Blanton.
He is survived by: his son Wayne Blanton (Donna) of Richmond; his sisters, Betty Buttrey, Pearl Murray and Minnie Hacker; his grandchildren, Laquetta Singh (Sam), Jennifer Shelton (Mike Mulligan), Sirena McKinley (Brandon), Steven Shelton (Ashley), Jack A. Blanton (Brittany) and Savannah Blanton; his great grandchildren, Amber Blanton, Salem Schaeffer, Destiny Schaeffer, Heaven Schaeffer, Maddison McKinley, Savannah McKinley, Gabriel McKinley, Lana Fultz, Lane Harvey, Landon Shelton, Kinley Shelton and Kennedy Shelton; his great great grandchildren, Eleanor Webb, Clementine Teater, Marceline Trimble and Juno Ahaus; and his son-in-law Wesley Shelton (Lisa). He is also survived by several nephews, nieces and cousins.
