He was predeceased by: his parents, Josh Edward Powers and Mary Otis Warfield; his son Timothy Nelson Powers; his sisters, Gladys Manes and Lucille Pemberton; and his grandson Andrew Hayden Powers.
He is survived by: his son Kenneth Earl Powers of Sophia; his sisters, Ruth McCullough (Don) of Richmond and Ailene Spencley of Toledo, Ohio; and his grandchildren, Erin, Ashton and Rachel. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
